I have a large apology to extend out to the community. During my pre-Xmas craziness - during some configuration changes - I inadvertantly disabled SSL security on my website.
I have always prided myself on the security of my store and am heartily embarrassed that this slipped past me.
Luckily as my payment processor is secured seperately from my store SSL - no-one’s sensitive information was compromised.
I apologise again and am happy to let everyone know that SSL is back up for all checkout procedures - affording you all that extra layer of security.
Yes - it is true. I am offically a slack blogger. I cry in horror at what this means for my future as a world famous blogging fiend.
In my defense of course- I blame Christmas, NYE and family!
There are a few store changes comming up soon that will hopefully see a more enjoyable experience for all.
I have been attempting to source some spectacular corsets that are designed and made here in Australia as well as some new vintage lines. Due to the economy battering us all - I am hoping to have the majority of my lines here in Australia to cut down on additional shipping costs and a dodgy exchange rate.
As well as stock changes there will be a mini vamp of the store. While I am happy with the majority of the store - there are some niggling annoyances that must be culled! *insert evil laugh*
As usual feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments
The economy. A joy to behold for all. Also a source of endless frustration. Customers may notices price changes for the Voller Corset, Ostrich Online and Sensual Mystique ranges of products.
Unfortunately as these products are ordered direct from the associated countries (UK and US), I am a slave to the exchange rate. Voller Corsets took the biggest hit with the aussie dollar sitting at 39c for $1. /cry
I monitor the currencies carefully and the prices will change to reflect any currency exchange changes.
Hopefully the economy will stable out a bit and the aussie dollar can make up some lost ground.
Recently the Miasma Belly Dancing Troupe rocked out at Sydney’s Hellfire. They were awesome enough to send me a few pictures of their performance.
I must admit I am completely loving their outfits. Thinking of making your own outfit? Head to my store to see our new range of feathers, fans and boas.
Here are the duo, Angela and Katrina indulging in an elegant bow. I am loving the stockings in ways I cannot express actually and feel the need to now stock my store with about 50 000 version of them!
Here they are again. Note the side curl detail. Adds a really cute touch to the look. The top hat also gets +20 points.
More top hat action. I think I might get one actually.
Remember if you want to see Miasma in action you can head to their webpage for information on hiring them or classes.
Tribal Style belly dance is a structured improvisational form of dance that draws from cultures around the world, including Middle Eastern, Egyptian, Indian, Spanish Flamenco, and African dance. Tribal style is usually performed with two or more dancers, as it is a style of dance in which dancers interact with one another. This style of belly dance originated in the US and has spread around the world in recent years, becoming more and more popular. The performances have a focused, fresh, energetic feel, largely due to the improvisational component and the interaction between dancers.
Miasma is a Tribal Belly Dance duo based in Northern Tasmania. Their performances have often been described as ‘mesmerising’! Shows can have an earthy, gypsy feel with upbeat and folky flair, or a more intense, dramatic style. Shows, costumes and music can be tailored to suit the occasion, from a more ‘traditional’ feel, to modern, edgy gothic/club style, using props such as swords and fire to create dramatic, exciting performances.
You can check out Miasma’s website here or you can find booking information here
If you want to check them out in person, Miasma will be performing at Sydney’s Hellfire on the 15th of September.
For more information about Sydney’s Hellfire have a look at their website

I have recently purchased myself a fantastic corset. (God bless having my own store I swear).
I cannot express how much I love this corset. Not only does is give me a gorgeous hourglass shape - but It was so firm and supporting. Everybody must have one of these in their closets! I personally got myself the black pvc, and a satin one is next on the list!
This style is the longest underbust corset in our range which fits snuggly under the bust and goes down over the hips, giving firm control to both the waist and hips. All of our corsets are front fastening, back lacing and are fitted with a modesty panel and an underbusk.
Front length 13.5″ (34cm)
Back length 13.5″ (34cm)
After much deliberation and consultation, I have decided to change how Burlesque Chic accepts Credit Card/Debit Cards.
Atm Burlesque Chic uses Paypal to accept credit cards. However I have noticed over the course of the past few months that customers regularly get confused when they hit the paypal screen and usually are not sure where to input their details.Added to this the fact that Paypal is not Australian nor does it reliably carry over the correct purchase amount to be paid; we have decided to change to Paymate.
When you checkout your purchases you will now be directed to the Paymate payment page. This page is - in my opinion - much more clear on exactly how to enter your credit/debit card details than the paypal page.
As expected Paymate is secured via VeriSign encryption so your details are secure from prying eyes.
There is also the added benefit of Paymate having its head office in Sydney, so contacting them is much easier.
Paypal is still an option for people who wish to use their paypal accounts to pay for purchases - however it may be down for a few days while I try to resolve this issue it has with changing the purchase price.
I also will be adding a new payment option of Direct Debit for all those who live and love internet banking as much as I do!
Any questions please email me,
~Gemma
Now so as not to leave this post to seriously have some Babydolls!
On Friday the 22 August; Scoundrelles, one of Brisbane’s premier Pole Dancing and Burlesque Schools, will be hosting the 2008 Queensland Pole Dancing Championships. It will be a great night out starting at 7pm and ending at 11pm.
Not only will there be Queensland’s best pole dancers showing off their fabulous skill, there will also be duo demonstrations and special guest Burlesque performances. The championship is an opportunity for talented participants to showcase the strength and agility that Pole Dance represents. It has attracted contestants from as far a field as Cairns and New Zealand with the winner of the professional division being sent to Sydney to compete for the prestigious “Miss Pole Dance Australia” title.
I’ve finished uploading the Leg Avenue range of stockings. There’s a really gorgeous pair of Crushed Velvet Thigh Highs that are sure to keep your legs very warm and stylish for the remainder of winter.
I’m also in the process of tweaking the categories. The quicker you can get to your desired items, the happier we will both be!
Don’t forget the Burlesque Ball! I’ll see you all there!
Now for all you Burlesque lovers in Brisbane – make sure you have brought your tickets for the 3rd Annual Burlesque Ball. It will be hitting Brisbane on the 22nd of November 2008.
Tickets for general admission are $60.18. The Ball will also be in Sydney on the 1st of November and for the first time in Melbourne the 8th of November.
Now onto more interesting things like what on earth are we all going to wear?
Luckily fair bloggers you are only a click away from some scrumptious items to adorn yourselves in! What is an outfit without an Ostrich Feather Fan?? An outfit lacking in pizzaz I say. Of course you can also induldge yourself in some stunning steel boned corsetry, or perhaps something with a little more beading?
Whatever your needs, you are sure to find something delightful here. And please whatever you do – don’t forget the stockings!
